Lactation Support

Feeding your baby can come with questions, changes, and challenges at every stage. Lactation support should help you feel informed, confident, and encouraged—not add more pressure to an already demanding season.

At Mama Babe Lactation & Wellness, Kinsey Gilmore, MS, LD/N, IBCLC, provides individualized, evidence-based lactation support rooted in compassion, grace, and the belief that motherhood and the bond between mother and baby are gifts from God worthy of thoughtful care and support.

Whether you are preparing to breastfeed, working through latch or milk supply concerns, pumping, bottle feeding, returning to work, or navigating feeding transitions, Kinsey provides practical guidance tailored to you, your baby, and your feeding goals—meeting your family with knowledge, encouragement, and faith through every season of the journey.

At Mama Babe Lactation & Wellness, Kinsey Gilmore, IBCLC, provides personalized, evidence-informed lactation support for families throughout the Florida Panhandle and Southeast Alabama, with office locations in Marianna, Florida and Dothan, Alabama, as well as convenient virtual lactation consultations.

One of the foundations of Mama Babe Lactation & Wellness is changing the idea that lactation care is only necessary when breastfeeding is not going well.

Your feeding journey changes constantly. The questions you have at three days postpartum may be completely different from those you have at three weeks, three months, or when you return to work.

Preventative lactation care creates opportunities to check in, prepare for upcoming transitions, and address concerns early.

That might mean meeting prenatally, checking in after birth, preparing for pumping, planning your return to work, navigating complementary feeding, or getting support when you are ready to wean.

The goal is continuity: support for your feeding journey, not simply a single feeding problem.

Meet Kinsey

  • Kinsey Gilmore, MS, LD/N, IBCLC

Kinsey Gilmore is an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC), Licensed Dietitian/Nutritionist (LD/N), and fitness coach dedicated to supporting mothers and babies through pregnancy, postpartum, and every stage of the feeding journey.

With expertise spanning both lactation and maternal-infant nutrition, Kinsey brings a whole-person perspective to care. She supports families with breastfeeding and latch concerns, milk supply, pumping, bottle feeding, combination feeding, returning to work, feeding transitions, and weaning, while also considering the nutritional needs and overall wellness of the mother.

Kinsey’s approach is evidence-based, practical, and individualized. Rather than prescribing one “right” way to feed a baby, she works alongside each family to understand their concerns, priorities, and goals and develop a plan that is realistic and sustainable for everyday life.

As a mother of two, Kinsey also understands that feeding plans have to work beyond the consultation room. Her goal is to provide families with knowledgeable clinical guidance, clear answers, and ongoing support as their needs change.

Through Mama Babe Lactation & Wellness, Kinsey provides lactation and wellness care from offices in Marianna, Florida and Dothan, Alabama, as well as through virtual consultations.

Prenatal Lactation Support

Prepare for Breastfeeding Before Baby Arrives

You do not need to wait until your baby is born to establish a relationship with an IBCLC.

A prenatal lactation consultation gives you an opportunity to learn what to expect, discuss your goals, identify factors that may affect breastfeeding, and create a plan before the early postpartum days begin.

Prenatal lactation support may include education about:

  • What to expect during the first hours and days after birth

  • Early milk production and colostrum

  • Feeding frequency and infant feeding cues

  • Positioning and latch

  • Signs that feeding is going well

  • Pumping and hand expression

  • Preparing for common breastfeeding challenges

  • Previous breastfeeding difficulties

  • Individual circumstances that may affect feeding

  • Creating a postpartum feeding plan

Whether this is your first baby or you are hoping for a different feeding experience this time, prenatal preparation gives you an opportunity to ask questions and know where to turn once your baby arrives.

Postpartum Lactation Consultations

Personalized Breastfeeding Support for You and Your Baby

The early days and weeks with a new baby involve constant change. Lactation care considers both you and your baby and how feeding is working for your family as a whole.

During a lactation consultation, Kinsey can assess your feeding experience, discuss your concerns and goals, observe a feeding when appropriate, and help develop a practical plan for moving forward.

Families commonly seek postpartum lactation support for:

  • Painful breastfeeding

  • Difficulty latching

  • Baby repeatedly coming on and off the breast

  • Sleepy or frustrated feedings

  • Concerns about milk transfer

  • Low milk supply

  • Oversupply or strong milk flow

  • Engorgement

  • Pumping difficulties

  • Bottle refusal

  • Breast-to-bottle transitions

  • Combination feeding

  • Concerns about infant growth or feeding patterns

Not every visit needs to begin with a problem. Lactation consultations can also provide reassurance, education, and guidance as feeding evolves.

Ongoing Lactation Support

Your feeding needs continue to change as your baby grows. Kinsey provides support beyond the early newborn stage to help you navigate pumping, bottle feeding, returning to work, feeding transitions, and weaning with a plan that works for your family.

Ongoing lactation support may include:

  • Pumping routines and flange fit

  • Maintaining milk production

  • Introducing or transitioning to bottles

  • Exclusive pumping or combination feeding

  • Preparing to return to work or childcare

  • Balancing breastfeeding, pumping, and complementary foods

  • Navigating changes in your baby’s feeding patterns

  • Gradual weaning and reducing milk production

Whether you are preparing for a new stage or working through an unexpected challenge, Kinsey can help you understand your options and create a realistic, sustainable plan that supports both you and your baby.
